Caesar has issued the decree, we must stay home, lock up our businesses, not go to the gym and CERTAINLY not go to church!
So then, how can we love our neighbour without defying Caesar? After all, theres nothing in the bible that would give us any license to disobey government decrees. Every Saint in both the Old and New Testaments have spotless records for civil obedience.
In this article I want to offer 5 ways to obey God by loving your neighbour while also faithfully continuing to bow the knee to Caesar. You’re welcome!
1. Call your Depressed Friends on the phone or Zoom
Depressed people don’t need your physical presence. Studies have been done that suggest that staying far away from depressed people actually helps them. Plus, you wouldn’t want to get too close to someone who is depressed, it might rub off on you… and thats not loving…
2. Treat Your Neighbour Like a Leper
If your neighbour gets within 6.5 feet of you, make sure you immediately run away. You want your neighbour to understand they are unclean and filthy and you are not. Caesar tells us to socially distance, you wouldn’t want to make your neighbour feel welcome. So even at a reasonable distance do things to make them feel unwanted.
3. Shame Your Neighbour Who Doesn’t Bow To Caesar
If your neighbour is defying Caesar, make sure you shame them. It’s very important that you aggressively accuse them of hating humanity and wanting everyone to die if they want to see their families, go to church or do normal human things like gather for dinner. This is loving, because it pleases Caesar.
4. Do Recon For Caesar
If your neighbour is breaking Caesars rules by having people over for dinner make sure you love them by calling the Police. Nothing is more loving then a $10,000 fine from Caesar! Caesar will thank you for your service by raising your taxes and ensuring you have no job.
5. Scare Your Neighbour
Fear is a great way to love your neighbour. Scare them everyday by posting emotionally manipulative articles and constantly barraging them with the “facts.” It’s very unloving to try to ease your neighbours anxieties. If they aren’t in constant fear, they might disobey Caesar! We cant have that…
